The Lord continues to draw people from a place of “academic” knowledge of Him to a place of transformative personal experience. Here are some recent events:

1) Don met Francisco and Lizangie at the local lake park. They were visiting the area on vacation from up north. They got talking about Jesus after Lizangie mentioned that she didn’t want to pursue having a family with Francisco until after he married her. Don commended Lizangie on her heart’s desire. They were both very open to what Don had to share from Scripture and his own experience. After a long discussion, the couple ended up coming back to our house, where they were both water baptized and received the Holy Spirit, speaking in tongues. They were very touched. They felt miraculously changed, describing to us an inexplicable peace, joy, freedom, and confidence in Christ. They left that night, determined to do things the “right” way from now forward.

2) Please pray for Diana in particular. Ethan met her at a convention down south, and he invited her over to meet the rest of us after the event was over. So, we all got together a few weeks later, and we had a great evening with dinner, fun, and most importantly, lots of discussion about God and the Bible. She had been exploring different religions, including Islam, and the ways of Jesus were what made sense to her. She ended up wanting us to pray over her to receive the Holy Spirit. We did, and she was soon praying fluently in tongues. She prayed in the Holy Spirit for quite a long while and seemed very moved by the whole experience. She wasn’t yet ready to get water baptized, given her fear of water (from nearly drowning as a child), so we encouraged her and left things open.

3) Don met another guy at the lake park named Domingo. While chatting, Don discovered that Domingo is already Spiritfilled and prays in tongues fairly often. But, he was dealing with arthritis in the arm at the time, so he asked Don for prayer. At the same time, Don encouraged Domingo to pray in tongues together with him, so it was a of an “igniting” opportunity for Domingo, too.

4) When Don met Elena and a friend of hers at the lake park, they started with a friendly hello which turned into a very long and deep discussion about Scripture and morals, etc. Elena was thoroughly convicted by the message God gave to Don for them both, so after Don left the park, Elena continued the discussion with her friend. It was revelatory for her and a life-changing experience. She ended up hungering and thirsting to get right with God more than ever, so she was eager to come to the house to pray. She received the Holy Spirit very powerfully and got water baptized in our pool after that. She has since sent Don some wonderful messages, excited by her transformation and new relationship with Jesus.
